6mm ply is not suitable to tile on. If your over boarding floorboards then 15mm ply minimum

6mm ply is not suitable for tiles, min 15mm, better with 18mm depending on subfloor. If any deflection (bounce) it may be better to over board 18mm ply with cement board ie: Hardie board, or the like.![]()

Hi guys, thanks for advice.
I was thinking about over boarding old chipboard with 6mm ply.
What should I do now ??
Should I remove old chipboard and lie a 18 ply wood only ??
Cheers

Cheers united, I'll use 18mm ply wood.
It's a small bathroom about 4 sq m.
But I still don't know which adhesive is best for porcelain and ply![]()
Any advice ?
Thanks

prime the ply with ardex p51 primer and use ardex x7001 to stick your porcelain tiles with

I'd go with 18mm wbp ply, 6mm hardiebacker (adhesive and screws) and the fix porc tiles with keraquick (mapei)

Should I use PVA if I want to use that Mapei Keraquick and latex plus???
Thanks

As Grumpy, Never PVA, if you go with Mapei then primerG is the stuff you need (SBR)![]()

Can I use mapei Keraquick for my tiles on plasterboard (on the wall) ??
Should I use that primer G on the floor and on the walls as well ??
