    Cool Levelling wooden floor

Having lined a wooden bathroom floor with 18mm ply, have found there is a dip in the centre of the floor to a maximum depth of some 10mm at the centre. The depression is nearly 1 metre across. The rest of the floor is ok. The least difficult option seems to be applying a levelling compound. The normal place to start with this type of levelling seems to be at an edge of the room? This would mean working towards the dip. I am wondering whether it would be better to apply the leveller first in the centre of the dipped area and work out wards to the edges and corners of the room where the thickness of the levelling compound would be thinnest?
As regards the leveller, the only suitable leveller I have seen in other posts is Mapei Fiberplan, unless anyone knows any alternative- I woul prefer something that didn't go so quickly . Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

    Hi..

Yes you would be better to start at the lowest point and work outwards till flat.

There are quite a few fibre enhanced SLC's on the market now.

Really good ones i have used to date.

    Mapei fibre plan .
    PCI HSP 34
    Weber flex

And soon to try the Norcross one..

Just been into Currys and carphone warehouse, tried the local Chinese takeaway. None of them had heard of weber niv dur but I did get a new flatscreen tv, mobile phone and crispy duck for later.

I was a BAL man for a lot of years.. well before you even thought about tiling..

And i can honestly say Mapei are just as good if not better in some adhesives..

    Mapei do lightweight adhesive..
Mapei do S2 single part and 2 part adhesives
Rubber crumb isn't a new product but it is a weaker product, check up on the tensile strength tests performed.

So why pay for a name that does no more than any other brand and not just mapei..

It is time a certain brand woke up and smelt the gravy....

I use many brands of adhesive, depending upon job, local suppliers, customer & price...
    Mapei
    Weber
    Profix
    Ultra
    Stonefix
    Granfix

Do not have one particular "Brand" favourite, but I prefer some individual products within each brand. As we all probably do. Personal choice again.
Ain't trying to do the hard sell on any brand.

Mapei Fiberplan is the Daddy of reinforced levellers, but due to availability I tend to use the Master leveller from Wickes and I tell you what if it isn't Fiberplan re-bagged I'll eat a bag on Northumberland Street

And it's about half the price......
