Regrouting job
Hi all,
been tiling for over three years now and still going strong!! but....im on my first regrout job
ive got a five metre floor and its taken me all day to take nearly half the grout out!!!
Has anyone any advice on the best way to get it out??? im using a grout rake with a carbon blade and its rubbish.
Anyone got any hints on how to take the sting out of regrouting and to get it done a little quicker.
Thanks in advance guys

Re: Regrouting job
Do you have a Fein or bosch multi tool?

Re: Regrouting job
I use a Fein, but refuse to do regrout jobs, mainly because of the issues you are experiencing
.
Good luck mate.

I hate grout rakes, whatever make. I always manage to get a blister on my thumb whenever I've used one.

Re: Regrouting job
I have a Fein, used it to remove the grout from around one tile. Was dead easy but still wouldnt even contemplate a regrouting job

Re: Regrouting job
The quickest way by miles is to use a Exakt saw with a diamond blade ( cuts thro grout no probs) and clean the edges up with a grout rake. You need a vacuum but the saw comes with all the attachments. As long as the grout is wider than 2mm and you're careful not to catch the tiles.

Re: Regrouting job
I am with Phil and Merle here - Fein with diamond wheel. But. Got to be really careful when using - still possible to score tiles - like I did last time - then you have a tile to replace...

Re: Regrouting job
used to do fix broken tiles on apple ipod shops, sometimes it was 2 tiles. bare in mind they were 760x760 inch stone. when it was 2 tiles we were done in no time, but other times it was more. still an awfu;ll job
