Was in today and my local shop took delivery of some new Mapei adhesives (new bags and branding), was wondering if anyones know about these and what are their equivelents ie keriquick and they are very keenly priced !!

Any names on the packaging..?

I got worried then when i saw the title and "tubs" in the same box

Dave yes names, hmmm cant remember, but there is a tubbed adhesive, white and grey rapid set, seems that mapeker is getting binned by them, on front of bag says suitable for floor overboarded with 15mm ply, price as is better than some special discount stuff, will pop in tomorrow and get more info !!

Mapeker flex is now out..

And new bags for the grout..foil bags..

is that what you mean. as for tubbed stuff.. pass don't use it..LOL

Makeker flex is getting binned in Dundee shop though, think this new stuff is aimed at the trade levels to compete against topps stuff, prices are from £6.** etc, got all grout in foil and the tubbed adhesive is only good for the bucket !!

It's called Proflex. Just slightly different to Mapeker. Has Tile Giant on side of the bag. The grey tubs are in between the red and blue tubs(if that makes sense) and another tub but cant remember what that 1 was.

Think the price is the same as mapeker just now.

Sounds about right, I had a call a couple of weeks ago from TG to advise that they had some "new" adhesives coming in. I've been waiting for the deliveries before passing comments but the prices are supposed to be really good .

Matt will know all about it.

hamilton has had the foil bags for a few weeks now,are they not smaller bags?

ProQuick - Equivalent to Standard Mapei Rapid Set
ProFlexible Grey - Equivalent to Mapeker Grey (C2F)
ProFlexible White - Equivalent to Mapeker White (C2F)
ProGrip - Equivalent to MapeGrip D2

All come with Tile Giant green packaging.

As far as I know, stores will stop stocking Mapei Rapid Set and Mapeker, but will continue with all the other products.

I just enquired about those today as well with Mapei Rep.. he confirmed the names matt just said..

They are just re-brand for TG......

tg branch i use said its just a re brand

Aberdeen branch just started stocking these last week at a very competitive price, thought it was just a gimmick at first, nice to know the sales person wasn't trying to pull a fast one.
