whats the best method of mixing this grout? by hand or with cordless drill and some sort of mixing tool?

also, i plan to grout the walls (approx 8sqm) first then the floor (approx 6sqm) with a second batch. will there be a difference in colour if i mix exactly to the instructions?

thanks fella. what's the paddle for the drill called? where can i get one? should i stir mix every 5-10mins to increase setting period?

Where you buying your grout? they should have a small paddle to fit your drill they could sell you if not the large DIY stores sell them for a few pound

ok. got my grout from tile giant but will go to homebase/B&Q for the paddle

I just used some of this grout, I purchased a 5kg bag but decided to mix it up in 1kg batches, reason for this is I prefer to take my time and it sets of within about 25 mins, plus I didn't want the grout setting too much over the tiles before I had time to wipe it off.

I used a paddle and electric drill and it mixes really well.

carpo did you use scales/measuring equipment to mix the grout to ensure no differences in colour? how much water did you use per kg?

you get to know the texture with the grout i believe so small amounts don't need the paddle IMO,i'v seen me with a scraper mixing very small amounts.
I use a Eibenstock mixer 99% of the time though but might start using a small whisk in the battery drill for small amounts.

You can still use a paddle as long as the bucket is not to big, I used a set of scales and borrowed a saucepan from the kitchen when the mrs went out, popped in in the dish washer right after and she never realised.

From memory a 5 kg bag need 1 litre of water so I used 200ML of water to 1kg of grout, the couler match was fine, but then it was white

I had put down polished porcelain floor tile and was wary of having the grout setting on the surface too long so preferred do do smaller sections and clean fully before moving on, did take a while but I had read some horror stories about grout staining on here so preferred this route

Mixing by hand would have been no problem but im a little lazy
