Discuss Evo stik adhesive in the Tile Adhesive, Grout and Substrate Preparation at TilersForums; Just had delivery of 300mm x 600mm porcelain tiles for bathroom. All round helpful builder mate said BAL GREENSTAR was good stuff. I've also seen this EVO stuff in toolstation... ...

    Default Evo stik adhesive

    Just had delivery of 300mm x 600mm porcelain tiles for bathroom.
    All round helpful builder mate said BAL GREENSTAR was good stuff.
    I've also seen this EVO stuff in toolstation...
    Toolstation > Adhesives & Sealants > Tile Adhesive & Grout > Extra Grab Tile Adhesive
    Anyone any preference/recommendations? ta very much!

    you can't use tubbed adhesive for that size of tile,tubbed adhesive only caters up to about 300mm2 and says on the tubbs nowadays,you will need a cement based adhesive,flexible if the substrate has any movement
    alcohol-the cause and solution to all of lifes problems

    As David says, you can't fix tiles that size with tubbed adhesive. Needs to be powder based. If you are stuck for a "proper" tiling outlet near you, check out the "Buildfix" stuff in B&Q. It is made by Mapei and will do a good enough job for you.

    its not advisable to use tubbed with pocelain anyway as the tiles are vitrified
    I know nothing I havent learnt

    hi grumpy grouter!! just read your bit on porcelain tiles and B&Q's buildfix stuff by mapei theres two types ultimate grab £13.98 for 15kgs and ultimate showerfix £19.98 15kgs!! which one is best! for downstairs loo plaster wall prepd with sbr porc tile 400x400 have you used both. thanks ynotlac.
