Keraflex Maxi
Tile Giant have sold me Keraflex maxi for my porcelain to wood floor project.
Have just looked at the data sheet and Mapei suggest that is is NOT suitable for a wooden floor. I have a 22mm marine play base, very well fixed.
Any advice for me out there?

Re: Keraflex Maxi
So you think it would be ok? Should I prime?

Re: Keraflex Maxi
You can use keraflex maxi on marine ply.

Re: Keraflex Maxi
only prime the underneath and sides of the ply,not the surface you are tiling onto

Re: Keraflex Maxi
Of course it is suitable for tiling to timber.. A rapid set would be better regarding the moisture in the adhesive but keraflex maxi is suitable for timber.

Re: Keraflex Maxi
I use 2 part when tiling onto ply but only as a bit of over kill. You should be fine with the keraflex, as said above, the only problems would be the setting time.

Re: Keraflex Maxi
It's fine as above. It has a long pot life so might be good if your new to tiling or want to take a bit extra time.
Here is a data sheet

Re: Keraflex Maxi
Not exactly new to tiling but not exactly fast (hence prefer a long set time) They are Villeroy Fire and Ice, hard as hell so everything wet cut and VERY slow.
Thanks all for your advice

you could dry lay a certain amount and do your cuts , then do a mix with rapid set,but if ya happier with a slow set, go for it
