Hi and Help
I have been aked to do a tiling job on outside concrete steps. I have only tiled inside before like bathrooms , hallways and kitchens. These steps have been tiled 3times before but when the winter comes with the snow and ice they keep popping off what is the best way to cure this apart from replacing the steps. The customer wants it retiled

perhaps some pics on Thursday and then the pro tilers will be able to see what you are looking at as well. There are special addys for outdoors. I used Evostick raapid set frost and water proof stuff for mine and had no issues through this winter. (I not a tioler though so may be better gear to use) The popping off may also be an issue with the concrete rather than the tiling so again pics might be usefull.
you must all buy this song from any good download site for just 79p. Proceeds to Blesma, RAFA and RAFBF charities

Re: Hi and Help
Hello and welcome..
Most cement based adhesive are fine for exterior use ( frost proof) .
It is the application methods t hat can cause them to blow off with frost.. if any capillaries/voids are left then water can get in and freeze thus forcing tiles upwards as the water freezes..
So solid bed fixing is advised.
