hard days prep
I think the bathroom i was in today was one of the worst bathrooms I have ever had the displeasure to be in, I ended up chopping out layers of old bonding back to an old lime mortar render that just crumbled up between my fingers , some of the other walls were leaning back 40-60mm out of plumb on a corner that needs a slow mitre, completely replastered 3 walls and ran out of one coat so had to try and straighten out a badly bowed wall with powdered tile adhesive left work today looking like frosty the snow man covered in dust and muck ,still going to need another few hours prep and will have reducing mitre tiles when the bathroom is finished so I am glad to home and need a beer

Re: hard days prep
todays bathroom, three walls not bad, good plaster to tile on, the fourth wall ended up on the floor in a pile of dust like Garys. Got the plasterer coming first thing thankfully
Gary, what do you mean by 'reducing mitre tiles'! Do you just mean not parallell

it probably would have done and I would get a better finish dry lining but the budget on the job wont cover it

'reducing mitre tiles'
if the 2 walls lean back and you meet a mitre as the mitres meet the cuts need to to reduce in size raking back against each other ,if the wall leans out at the top the mitres gain in size from floor to ceiling ,not very nice to look at hence the need for nice plumb walls when mitring is required

Re: hard days prep
You can't beat a good mitre, much nicer looking than trims imo.

Re: hard days prep
I had a great day!
Fibreplan on the floor on Friday meant it was lovely and level for tiling today.
Mind you its just a back passage utility room with 5 tread staircase and landing.
But it is in Victorian black/white geometric so life is good.
