Re: product recommendations pls
Is it for wall tiling or floor tiling in the shower area.
Is the matting you require a tanking system.
What size are your marble tiles and how thick are they.
Mapei is a great product and a fast set flexible white adhesive would be my choice but you may require something that sets a little slower.
You should get a few more replies with a little more information.
Thanks for the thread and enjoy your project.

Re: product recommendations pls
If you are using hardie backer boards for the walls you do not need to use a tanking membrane as it a fully waterproof product - Just make sure you seal and tape any joins and corners.
The thickness of the marble is important for the weight ratios for the subsurface you are tiling onto - but 14mm will be fine for Cement boards.
Mapei is available from most good tile suppliers (as per Diamond) and the cost of this product has to be cost effective re :where else you can buy it and transport/time to go and pick it up.
Pleased you got back and keep asking!

Re: product recommendations pls
Do you mean fully water resistant john..? as in it will not deteriorate with water ingression..
If a full water proof installation is needed then you can either use a membrane over the hardi or use another brand of backer board.. something like marmox or wedi and then tape the joints with waterproof tape.
