    Default Ready mixed adhesives

Newbie here - been using powdered adhesives up until now but have a small splashback job coming up and was thinking of using BAL's ready mixed adhesives (ie Green star) rather than go through the hassle of mixing up. Be interested to know what they are like to work with?

    Cheers

easier to work with then powder i think and if its only a small splash back with no fear of water penetration why not i might get shot down for saying that

The thing with using tubbed ( dispersion ) adhesive is time, if you do use tubbed you'll have to go back next day to grout, using a rapid bagged addy you can fix in the morning, have lunch and go back later inthe day to grout. Job sorted, and a full day to do another job.

If time isn't a problem then tubbed 'can' be an option, don't like using it myself, takes no time or effort to mix up bagged gear.

If you were to pay yourself by the hour then you would never use tubbed adhesive, it takes minutes to do a mix and you have a tiled area that can be grouted in a matter of hours. Green star is not worth the couple of quid you will spend on it, stick to bagged always.

As above mate, a decent tubbed addy is ok for a small splashie, I do sometimes use them if im stuck for somewhere to mix, but you'll have to go back another day to grout, the addy wont go off quick enough to grout the same day.
