Wall thickness
Hi all, after a bit of advice had a trawl through previous posts but can't find anything specific.
I need to bring the thickness of a kitchen wall out a bit to cover the back edge of a kitchen worktop that had to be brought out from the wall by about 8-9mm. The wall is new 15mm dab and skimmed plaster board and the area I have to cover is approximately 1m high by about 4m long (kitchen back splash, although this area is not by the sink).
My idea is to use 6mm cement board and a 5mm notched trowel which with a 100x100x9mm tile should cover the gap comfortably, my question if this is the best method for filling the gap is; what is the best way to secure the cement board. A standard flexible adhesive 100% covered, BAL blue star? or a plaster board adhesive? Also would it need any mechanical fixings?
The top edge will be visible best to just finish off with grout?
