I know nothing I havent learnt

Re: Mastic / silicone
On domestics yes, larger commercial works normally have the 'mastic man' who does it

Re: Mastic / silicone
yes larger comercial have mastic men. i see it as i would rather pay someone do it right instead of me being let loose and making a hash of it.

Rather than do that it's not much ££££££ for cornertape, it makes for a fool proof job and will be cheaper than paying someone

The best way to find that out is to try it. Its a bit like Marmite...you either love it or hate it.

Re: Mastic / silicone
Practise! I used to be rubbish at it, not i dont use any of the tools just cut the end of the nozzle right and gun away. If you get it right you dont always have to smooth it with a tool or finger.
Get yourself some cheap silicone (screwfix?) and a length of plastic angle from one of the sheds, smear some vaseline or other greasy substance on it so the silicone doesnt stick and practise. Once dried just peel off and try again.
The art is in how hard you squeeze and how fast you move the gun. Get that coordination sorted and your away. I know a painter who is absolutley perfect at it!
