Hello Again gents

I dont grout corners or base just use silicone.
The whole point of the silicone is to allow for movement, grout will dry as hard as the tiles and allow for no movement.
Thanks

Just leave a consistent joint width ungrouted in the internal corners and around the tray and silicone when all is done and dry![]()
I thought the idea of flexy grout was to alow for movement, i have always used the flexy then siliconed corners and around bath/shower tray, looks like i have been doing it wrong for years it has never failed though maybe just luck.

Must admit, I always silicone last![]()

Actually so did i but the idea is that the silicone gets into the gap, silicone will not stick as well to grout which may still be wet. So you can teach old dogs new tricks
I tend to grout up, clean the internals whilst the grout is still soft - which gives a nice straight uniform joint, then go back the next day when everything is dry and do the silicone. This way I find that the grout either side of the internal gets completely sealed in by the silicone
But each to their own![]()
