Re: rapid setting grout
bal tends to go off a bit slower,i use mapei and toppfix nowadays and the toppfix stuff can go off even quicker, just mix smaller amounts until you get used to it

Re: rapid setting grout
hi i have had this prob with mapie their grout has its own method forget how you grout normally the grout always sinks on floors so always go over it twice then you need to let it nearly set b4 washing you should charge more for using mapie as it always takes longer and is harder to get a nice finish

you must follow the instruction v carefully witht the correct mixing and water quantity if you do then a whole new world of grout will appear
the finish you can get is the best in the market but yes it does take a bit to get used to it
Give their tech boys a ring or search for previous posts on the subject
you dont need to charge more because you are using it but you could charge more because of the finish you will get also the colour range and matching silicons are a Job Winner !

Never had that problem as yet, if grout is sinking then it has not been mixed correctly. Mapei grout has to be one of the very best available.
I cant imagine telling a customer they have to pay more because the grout is Mapei ?

Don't agree with that at all... 20 yrs tiling hey!..
Using mapei takes no longer than any other make... and infact you should be using fast setting for certain stones....
But to say charge more for using mapei...lets hope you get it..

Re: rapid setting grout
I copy that!
Mapei is one of the easiest grouts to use and you don't need to go over it twice at all?!
On floors your should have a solid bed, so there's nowhere for the grout to sink-to!
If your grout is sinking, you haven't put enough in, or you haven't fixed the tiles properly to the floor.
