large tiles!
I have a couple of floor jobs coming up both laying 600 x 600 tiles. I know one is defo polished porcelain. Not sure about the other as not seen them yet, customer has just told me the size. I was wondering though if you guys use a different adhesive for large tiles this size? or do you just stick to something like BAL Rapid Set Flexi? cheers

Re: large tiles!
Most will use a pourable thick bed adhesive...

Re: large tiles!
never used a pourable thick bed addy before, is it just like using normal addy?

Re: large tiles!
Nope!!..
It is an adhesive you mix slightly wetter and pour it...leave to stand for a min them comb through with a deep notch....it copes with large format tiles without the need to back butter..

Re: large tiles!
what are the costs like? is it more expensive? what size trowel would you use?

Re: large tiles!
It's about the same as flexi set.. and a 20mm trowel will be best for PTB adhesives..
BAL do one if you prefer BAL adhesives..
It is called BAL PTB..

Re: large tiles!
I have used Ardex S16, Ardex 7001, Mapei Keraquick and even Profix rapid set flexi (but wouldn't recommend the profix) for 600's that I have done. I've been considering using a PTB but find it difficult to source locally

Re: large tiles!
Yes go BAL PTB or Rapidset Flex … and go get yourself a thick bed solid bed trowel. (I’d buy a Rubi or a BAL trowel, both make a really nice thick bed solid bed trowel)

Re: large tiles!
... well at least you need flex if its over a wood floor or UFH.
