Default dab and dot best adhesive

hi i want to dab and dot plasterboard to bare brick wall in my bathroom.
ideally i would like something that gives strong hold and drys in 24 hours before i can tile.
    so..
what is the best adhesive to use?
do i need to prime the brick wall first? if so with what?
which side of the plaster board dose the adhesive go?
do i dab on wall and stick the board, dont know how much adhesive i will need apply.

i need to be sure, so sorry if questions are sounding daft.

    thanks

it didn't look to bad to my gooner, got plenty of dri wall top and bottom, possibly could 've done with another row of dabs in the bottom third, but he gave the boards a good whack with his straight edge to bed them (imo)

Bad dot and dabbing, far to many gaps in the vertical line, no sealing to the ceiling line to stop air flow behind the boards on the wall.

He must be on a naff price

Just make sure the brickwork is clean and dampen the wall where you will be putting dabs of adhesive
