I am going to fit 250mm x 330mm ceramic tiles in my bathroom. The walls are plasterboard which I have sealed with PVA solution. I guess I need a cement based adhesive but don't know what is best to use. I have bought some Unibond Rapid but now feel it is probably not correct. Can anyone please put me out of my misery??

welcome to the forum first of all. PVA isn't the right thing to prime your walls with, somebody always posts, read this....http://www.tilersforums.co.uk/tile-a...ht=pva+primers
Unibond isn't one I would recommend, you need a cement based adhesive though, Mapei P9 would be my choice

what mixture of pva did you apply...was it neat or watered down mix..?

Hi. Thanks for asking - I watered it down - about 4/5 to 1.

Then it should be fine then....the pva is a very weak mix and no body to it to liven back up when adhesive is applied...

I prefer to use a bagged adhesive rather than a dispersion adhesive and mapei P9 is good choice for that format of tile..

A neat coat of acrylic primer will be ok to use now...
