Has anyone used Mapetex? I need it to cover an area that runs from concrete screed to old chipboard flooring (old house and new extension). I would appreciate your views:

Has anyone used Mapetex? I need it to cover an area that runs from concrete screed to old chipboard flooring (old house and new extension). I would appreciate your views:
How easy it is to use?
Should I use Keraquick to stick it down?
Does it prevent cracks in stone tiles over the wood/concrete joins in the base?
Anything else I shold be aware of?
Thanks.

Re: Mapetex - has anyone used it?
Never used it but i will when a job calls for it.
Its an anti fracture Membrane, used for going over chipboard floors.
it will not help where two different substrates like you mention join. You will need an expansion joint over the join.
As for adhesive i would check with Mapei technical 1st

Re: Mapetex - has anyone used it?
Mapetex is an anti fracture membrane that may be used as steveamare suggests. In this context it should be fixed in keraquick incorporating latex plus (see data sheet) and tiles fixed say.....half a metre either side should be fixed in the same modified adhesive. Continue with the modified adhesive over the rigid stable timber and use the unmodified on the concrete section i.e no movement joint. It will cope with lateral movement and nothing will resist planar movement.
