Acrylic based addys
Hi all been of the site for a while as P.C. in Spain packed in and my repair man was back home in sunny Manchester anyway ime back in the U.K. For a while working, just recently done some building work for a tiler friend of mine refurbing and altering a shower room and he used tubbed acrylic addy which also said on the tub to use PVA as a primer does anyone have any opinions on this type of addy.

Re: Acrylic based addys
Well yeah lads i thought exactly the same as you but didnt want to say anything as i didnt want to cause any conflict between tiler and customer, the other thing it said on the tub is that it takes up to 2 weeks to go off so do not use wet areas for 2 weeks. The tiler who is a mate of mine is a top tradesman, 50 years of age and been tiling since he left school so why he is using this stuff i do not know but i wont say anything as it will only cause probs besides its all on the wall now.

Re: Acrylic based addys
Had the same with a tiler of 30+ who father was a tiler so were going back of a few years, they have got to move on with new ideas but it seems a bit difficult for them at times to wise up

Re: Acrylic based addys
seen that happen before tilers get set in there ways and a lack of information on tub adh you should get the faq sheet when purchasing on all adh half the time salesmen have no idea (new prod will hang tiles quick easy ) some tilers dont read into prod or are to proud to ask had old style tiler ask me in relation to tubed stuff over waterproofing as he was having trouble i ended up getting some faq sheets and data to help him out and point him in right direction products change you have to try and keep up
