had my floor tiled & grouted with black grout when its dried it has dried patchy with the grout drying grey in areas, randomly all over the floor. why has this happened? any ideas.

What make of grout and describe how the grouting and cleaning was done..?

Tiler used maxi grout hygienic & washed it over twice with sponge & water afterwards.

What colour adhesive did he use and was it all cleaned out of the joints before grouting?

sounds like hes washed over it too much and its changed colour,the pigmentation has washed out

sealing the grout might bring the colour down - we have just started adding Aqua Mix on our website - Something like Enrich'N'seal will darken it

could just be a bit of light efflorescence

I would give a few days then give it a good wash and light scrub with soapy water. Take it from there

Granfix.

It does tend to go patchy whilst drying, then come back once its set.

any maxi grout is terrible to use, its a very grainy grout and although it says its flexi it aint and always cracks. specially the ivory grout it goes a greeny colour, the white is more like a dirty white. the grey is very dark unlike the bal grey etc. stay clear.

Well it could be 4 things,

1.Grout not mixed properly

2. Adhesive still wet in spots

3. excessive water used in grout wipeoff

4. Bad batch of grout.

or no 5 exes glue left in joints run your finger over it if its glue it will feel diff to grout any pics
