Which Tile Adhesive To Use?
Hello all, well just a wee check up here on which adhesive to use. Ok its going to be bathroom walls and the tiles are big, think they about 24 by 12, well was wondering which wall adhesvie to use ready made wall adhesive in buckets or stone and porcelain adhesive white. Well white isnt the worry as i know it wont stain though the tile, main worrie is the weight of these tiles and wanta make sure they stick well to the wall, so the normal bucket adhesive am thinking might not hold the best. So what do yous think?
Thank You
Brendan

Re: Which Tile Adhesive To Use?
I would leave the tubbed gear in the shop and get a good powdered adhesive. Not rapid set though to give you time to use it all up. Speak to your local tile shop.
So what you want is bagged gear, long pot life, 3-5 hours. Make sure it sticks porcelain if thats what the tiles are and flexible if the walls are not solid.
Good luck

Don't forget to acylic prime the walls to prevent a reaction between the gypsum and the cement in the adhesive.

Re: Which Tile Adhesive To Use?
APD is acrylic and SBR is synthetic.......acrylic is better IMO for gypsum substrates but SBR will suffice.
