    Default Notch size to bed depth

    Hi guys. I was wondering if there was a way of calculating the resulting bed depth from the notch size.

    Take for example a 8mm square notch trowel. When applied at 45degrees this reduces the bed to around 6mm. Then when the tile is placed on to the bed and twisted in how much does this reduce the depth. Will it halve it to around 3mm.

    How does this then change regarding the shape of the notch. I've had a look around the site and can find answers to questions such as what size trowel for this size tile but nothing that really answers this that I can find.

    Need to do some maths to work out the compressed depth, am too tired at the mo though....
