    Best advice is to remove the paint or give it a real good keying!
    You don't need the paint failing when the adhesive gets to work on it.

    Roughen up the surface with a wire brush on a drill or scar the surface with a sharp knife

    Yip, give it a good scratching,score through the paint in loads of places ie i sometimes use stanley knife and score every shape and direction.
