slc virgin
hiya peeps, got a 25kg bag of sika a while back to have a go ,instead of practising on someones floor
the manager at buildcentre said he used this as watery as u like, anyway ,didnt take no notice of ratios but mixed it till it looked right,
only supposed to go 6mm, but i poured it to 20mmm, it levelled itself fine, but i trowelled it lightly once with my new gadget
its a 1mtr rule from machine mart,to the handle of the centre and put one at the end
well pleased with the results, dead flat ,clouted it with a hammer......sound

Re: slc virgin
£9 a bag is cheap, as for the 6mm max , im sure most off us have stretched the capabities of some products before, its gone off like kryponite with no cracks
ill be using this sika again for that price ,excellent self levelling, after reading some posts about troweling i had visions of having to mess about for a finish
this will hopfully help those that havent had a go yet, cheers boys ,steve

Re: slc virgin
I'm not brilliant with slc, and dont know if this is true but, i told that when its been poured trowel it out, then go over with a spiked roller for the perfect finish. Not tried it out yet though.

Re: slc virgin
Yep you are right Poynton I pour trowel then use a spiked roller to remove all trowel marks gives you a much better finish

So have you used this on a job yet Steve? If so, how was it? I also saw this Sika SLC in B&Q (sorry about the bad language!) and I was tempted to try it. Nice and cheap, although it definitely says to use PVA (sorry again) to prime which I was a bit surprised at.

Re: slc virgin
hiya mate, no ,not yet,i was practising in my garage, so didnt prime, if i do itll be a proper primer, certainly easier than i thought to use, good luck with your floor mate, steve
