Hi all

I was wondering if there was a preference as to which colour tile adhesive was used when tiling, or does it depend on the type of tiles you are laying. Are there tilers out the that only use white or grey adhesive as a preference? If so for what reason..

Light natural stone I use white addy, if the grout is a light colour, white addy as well

....and dark tiles/grout, I use grey

same as whitebeam, depends on the colour of the grout, always use white on travatine because grey can weep thru after a while.

Cost must come into it! - White is often 30% more expensive.
You wouldn't want to use white adhesive if you didn't need too.
White if you think the adhesive will bleed through the back of tile or the grout is light in colour.
Grey for vitrified tiles or darker coloured grout.
