Who uses dispersion adhesives and who uses only bagged( powdered) adhesives,.? or maybe even both...

If you use disperson adhesives , can i ask your preference using these to bagged gear.?
powder by choice for me, but if I'm doing a kitchen splashie and customer has got a reputable tubbed stuff and walls are good, I'll use itI've voted for powder, 'cos that's my preferred addy

The same as doug..................![]()

Used power for so long now, Just dont see the point in using something that takes an age to dry, I used a tub of granfix about 4 years ago just to see if it had improved, went to drill a hole the next day and the tile was still moving!!
that was the last time everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!

powered addy for me....but i do use tubbed bal or mapei for small jobs ie small splashbacks.![]()
BY THE TIME YOU ARE OLD ENOUGH TO REALISE YOUR PARENTS WERE RIGHT...........
YOU HAVE YOUR OWN CHILDREN TELLING YOU THAT YOU ARE WRONG......................

Bagged all the way here, again the tubbed not reliable enough for me.Takes too long and even had tiles pop off before 24hours after being put on !! just aswell i hadn't grouted so they were put back on with bagged and the rest of room checked throughly.

i always whisk my own its the best![]()
I like the premixed stuff on back splashes...gives you some extra time to fool around with the tiny bits around the electrical boxes and other fiddley areas. I do like that Kiesel Servolight thin set though...seems to give you time to work also, and holds the tile up nicely.
I use tubbed on the walls and wet area's (Ardex D2) holds up to a porc 350 x 350 and thing heavier i use the powder.
In my experience the tubbed stuff sticks the tiles better when completely dry,
Much easier to bolster a tile off the wall if it was stuck with powder, cant do that with the tubbed D2 (mastic) u will take the wall with it .

No Kiesel in the UK? That is interesting. Actually, there is only one place to get it here too that I know of. Pricey stuff, but it is a great product.

Any as long as it's made with calcium sulphate....got 4 and still looking for more

Is Laticrete sold in the UK? We use that brand exclusively, and usually mix the latex in with the powder, although they have some excellent modified pookies that take water only.
I think the Laticrete 255 must be like the kiesel stuff that Bri (TilePlonker) has told me about.
Tubbed Granfix on walls most of the time, powder goes off too quick if you've got a lot of cutting and going around windows and boxing etc, I use BenferFix or Flex on floors and BenferFlex on walls if I want it to go off quick. I haven't had a problem with either of these materials.
It's easier to do a job right than to explain why you didn't.

Not if you use standard flexi set...pot life of 8 hrs...with mapei stuff....i don't use dispersion adhesives at all now...powder goes off too quick if you've got a lot of cutting and going around windows and boxing etc,
