Fibreglass Balcony Just Say NO ?
Hi guys
My first post for a long while Just been asked to quote to lay 20sqm Porcelain on a double skin fibreglass balcony. No problems with doing it other than i recon it will all pop very quickly. as i don't belive it will be stable enough. Customer says it is a very strong balcony.
My answer "No not doing it" Anybody got a diffrent view.
cheers John

Double skin Fibreglass prob has a foam core just like boats put a load on it and it will still move its part of the design so I would have thought that this would mean too much deflection to tile, good call m8 IMO

Re: Fibreglass Balcony Just Say NO ?
Thanks for the confirmation think i will give it a miss. i can't find any adhesive maker that recommends a product either.

Re: Fibreglass Balcony Just Say NO ?
You will find that adhesive manufacturers won't offer a cement based adhesive even with an admix as it is difficult to get a good permanent bond with fibreglass
We would recommend that the fibreglass be roughened then offer Mapei Epoxy Adhesive to fix the tiles.
