All tiles off ... now what. please help!!
Hello, Im new to the forum, but have an issue.
I have just taken down all the tiles off my bathroom walls floor to ceiling 4 walls, both the inner walls have collapsed, the plaster and base have come off the breeze block, and is now bare breeze block.
The other two walls have come away to a firm "backing" and has taken the majority of pink off the wall.
For the breeze block I am thinking of dry-walling it with plasterboard and then tile to the plasterboard. The outer walls was wondering if its ok to tile direct to the backing it seems very solid with good key?!
Im tiling with 600x300 travertine tiles 10mm thick approx. and mapei gypsum primer, mapei keraquick adhesive and grout.
Is there a problem with my approach or does it sound ok! your input is much appreciated.
Thanks

Same as, take the rest of the old plaster off and dry line the whole lot, then you know it's going to flat and plumb

hope this helps oh and

Thought it was 20kg/m2?

Okay -so how heavy is a sq metre of 600x300x10mm travertine tiles with adhesive and grout.( and should this be a 600x400mmtile?)

Re: All tiles off ... now what. please help!!
Yep. Dry line with plasterboard for me too
(then tanking kit if required) and then tile.
Only reason I added tanking bit is because we had a mish-mash of surfaces to tile
1) Dryline
2) Plaster
3) Ply
4) Stud
Tanked everything and then tiled over the lot
