Replacing wood block flooring
Hi,
We are replacing some dark 1970s wood block flooring with natural stone. The wood block has been glued down by some black adhesive stuff. The blocks lift easily and the adhesive is only a couple of mm thick. It's going to take hours to get this up. Can I put some sort of sealer on it - or tile directly onto it - or does it have to come up? I've looked at earlier posts which talk about bitumen under Marley tiles - but is this the same stuff?
thanks, Ed

Re: Replacing wood block flooring
Wood block use to be laid on bitumen so it probably is. Scrape up any loose, prime and use a self levelling compound and then flexible adhesive and grout
