Hi folks and thank you for the welcome to this brill forum. We are 2 girls part way through our house renovation and need lots of advice on tiling the bathroom.
The walls are part new plaster and part paint.......I believe we need to leave 4weeks drying time for plaster then sand and prime and remove the old paint (which looks like gloss) should this be primed as well? Which tile adhesive would you recommend?
The floors are old timber boards. The door junction will be to underlay and carpet so we are aware of possible step problem. Considering this would 6mm ext ply be sufficient or go to expense of hardibacker board or NMP. ? primer choice and ? flexible waterproof adhesive.
All your comments will be gratefully appreciated as we don't want to commence and fail.

Leave the plaster 4 weeks to dry out, sand the paint off and prime with an acrylic primer such as mapei primer G, then use a cement based powder adesive such as Mapei Kerabond T or Adisilex P9.

6mm ply isnt thick enough if the floor is rigid then overboard with a 6mm cement panel such as hardibacker then tile with a cement based flexible adhesive, no need to prime.

If the floor isnt rigid then either remove the floor boards and replace with 25mm ply or overboard with 18mm ply. Depending on the type of tile something like mapei keraflex maxi.
