    Default Edge dilemma

I have decided to tile a rather narrow floor with 13.1X13.1 inch tiles that I liked. The problem (not unusual) is that I am left with a 7.5 inch gap along the width.
The question is what the options for covering this space?
    1. Do I cut two tiles width 3.7 inch, say, and have them running along both edges of the floor
    2. Do I just have a 7.5 inch tile bits alongside one edge away from the door opening (might look uneven)
    3. Or just get some narrow coordinating tiles for either ends.

And finally, what is the best way of removing old silicone around the removed toilet?
All your views will be gratefully appreciated.
    cheers

OK, I presume you have pinged a line down the centre of the hallway right? So, now the hallway is halved by your line. If you now lay the tiles to the side of the line, one tile sitting each side, does that then work out with the 7.5 inch cut? If so, try laying one tile marked each end in the middle and lay that tile on the line with the marks on each end on that centre line, ie making half a tile each side of the line. Will that increase you wall cut, try it.

Centre the area with the largest even cuts either side.
get some silicone eater that will soften up the silicone, a shrp blade and lots of care. Then a dry rag can be used to remove the last bits.

Thank you Fred, Jay and Sir Ramic,

I suppose centering even in a narrow room will make the decision for me - thats if I have any fingers left after the razor blade encounter!
    cheers!
