Flexi ahdesive for Travertine
Help!! Can anyone help recommend a good flexi ahdesive for Travertine tiles .I am in the process of pricing up a bathroom floor that is using Travertine tiles. The floor is made of wood and I don't want to use my normal Flexi ahdesive Granfix ultimate flex as I belive this will stain the tiles. I have heard of stoneflex but I don't really know a lot about the product. Also any advice on sealing the tiles would be useful as this is the first Travertine floor that I have laid. Many thanks

Re: Flexi ahdesive for Travertine
You say 'wood' are you going onto floorboards, in which case I would say think again, or ply or better still a backer board! Any white flexi will do, if the floor is properly prepped
Are the trav tiles full of holes or honed and filled, as you don't want to seal them before the holes are filled!

would lay these as instructed above, but make sure if they are going to be sealed before grouting to work very cleanly!

Fastflex comes in white.
As mentioned.......overboard first.

Homebase eh, best tile on the top of the pile and you'll be able to strain prunes thru' the rest.

If they are full of holes, I'd grout and then seal

Re: Flexi ahdesive for Travertine
Good evening Damo,
Depending on the colour of the travertine, choose a Mapei grout nearest the background shade ie, Jasmin 130 or Beige 132. Both go well with mid colour travertine. Hardie backerboard would be my choice of overboarding and after clean fixing with a white flexible adhesive I'd grout and then seal but only if its a honed finish travertine. Remember the floor must be totally dry before sealing so this would mean a return trip and only then if the floor was spotless. Have fun!
