Default Boards to insulate a floor without UFH or not?

    Hi,

I am about to start laying porcelein tiles in my Kitchen.

I am laying a wood floor in the rest of the house.
The insulation would serve 2 purposes.

    1. Raise the level of the porcelain by 10mm to the same as the wood.
    2. Provide insulation of the floor using Ekoboard or similar.

    My questions are:

    1. Any real benefit of using boards to insulate without UFH?

    2. Best method of fixing the boards to a concrete sub-floor?

    3. Would I be better off just using SLC to raise the tiles approx 10 mm to get the floors level with eachother?

Laying insulation seems to be a cheaper and greener alternative to just raising the floor with SLC

    Thanks.

What is the existing subfloor mate, Ekoboards are laid using a SPF adhesive, the subfloor has to be solid underneath as they provide no strengthening.
