Default Weight of tiles on plastered wall

Can I use 10mm thick, 1" by 1" stone mosaic tiles on a part cement rendered part plastered solid wall? Weight of tiles is about 24kg per sqm plus grout & adhesive of 3 kg or so. The wall will form part of a shower cubicle and will be prepared with BAL WP1. Many thanks, Phil

Default Re: Weight of tiles on plastered wall

Sand and cement weight rating is 40kg / m2

Skim and set plaster is 28kg / m2

I allow 4kg / m2 for adhesive and 2kg / m2 for grout on average, although with mosic your going to be using a thin bed of adhesive say a 3mm trowel? so will have slightly less, although this will be counterbalanced by the increase in grout.

Your going to be on the limit I would suggest for the plastered area.
