Default any tips for removing addy from a floor??

hows it going all. just a bit of brain picking from you lot. a friend has asked me to tile his kitchen floor with a 13 inch tile, no other info on the tiles yet, now the existing tiles are to come up and although i havent lifted them yet i would like to be prepared for doing it. how best should i tackle removing the addy assuming the floor is a fairly typical screed one. i know its a dumb question givien i dont know exactly what im dealing with but any general help will defo give me some peace of mind and insight to what i might expect. thanks lads and lasses

is it a concrete floor or plyed?
we use a kango hammer drill.
you could use a hammer and chisel but you could be there for a while.

if it's a plywood seeted floor,i would remove the tiles then the ply rather than scrape it off it will save so much time!concrete floors are a bit harder as said use a hammer and chisel then sometimes sand down to get even enough for tiling!

like i said the tiles arent up yet, i'm only gathering info on what methods i can use depending on what i find. i know the house isnt yery old and its a groundfloor kitchen so im assuming it might be screed. time will tell. also would coarse sandpaper on a handheld belt sander be any good at the end of any chipping i might have to do?

Assuming it is screed and the tiles come up leaving the adhesive attached to it - then clean any loose material and as previously advised put a self levelling compound over the whole floor area. The time saved will pay for the additional cost of the material.

If you really want to save time and a huge amount of effort.
Hook up a tile or two. Check it is indeed a screed floor. If so (assuming all tiles are fixed and secure) latex over the whole lot; tiles an all.
    NOTE ***
Check yer heights thou before. i.e existing height + latex + tile thickness. Would you still be able to slide dishwasher, washing machine etc under the work top for example. Using the latex gives you one of the best sufaces for accurate speed tiling there is.
    NOTE**
you may still need to shave some of bottom of plyths and doors to accomadate new floor height. I dont do that as i always say "im a tiler not a carpenter" lol
