    Default Wall preparation question

    Hi All,

The time has arrived for me to finally start the work to tile my bathroom.

I have purchased some hardie backer boards and will be applying these to a brick wall this weekend .

I am going to use Mapei Keraquick adhesive to apply the boards and then fix them to the wall with fixings once the adhesive has dried.

Please can someone answer the following qustions if possible:

    1) do I need to apply any thing to the wall prior to using the adhesive? Should the wall be wet?

    2) Can someone tell where I can purchase the Mapei Keraquick from. I live in the north west (Halifax). Ideally I would just like to go and pick some up.

    Best Regards

    Chris

p.s Thanks for all the advice over the last few weeks. I am finally in a position to actually start the work. Wish me luck!

Hi Chris, ctd sell the Mapei adhesive you are looking for as do tile giant. The one thing i would do is to prime the walls before you apply the adhesive m8 and stagger the boards,so you dont have a joint all the way across or up the wall.Any other questions ,just ask

no probs, use primer g and either use a paint brush or roller to apply the primer to walls.Nothing hard about it,just make sure you dilute the primer as instructed on the bottle.
