    Hi and to the forums.
If the remaining adhesive is stuck well, short of sanding or scraping the remainder off you could flood the floor with a 2pack latex. Allow to dry for 24 hours and then screw your ply down to this at 150mm centers. A nice solid base for your vinyl tiles

I am having a bath suite replaced and walls tiled and wanted to get the floor ready to save some labour costs , so was wanting to try and remove as much adhesive and grout from the floor boards.
IS there any liquid solutions to soften up the dried on grout as its a pain in the a... to scrape, and my neighbour downstairs think i'm about to come through their ceiling !

    Hi.
It may be as quick & cheap to lift and remove the old floor boards and replace with 18mm WBP ply.
I don't know of any solutions as such that remove adhesive/grout in bulk. You can get surface film remover and the likes for grout. If the adhesive is cement based you could pour neat brick acid on to soften but stand chance of staining the ceiling below aside from fuming yourself

    hey redland
You say floor boards are they the standard floor boards 4"?
not sure about your cost savings but if your trying to remove adhesive from floor boards & i take that you are in residents of a apartment when you talk about your neighbour down below, not sure the best way to approach this you cant really flood with any acid liquid especially if they are your average floor boards with the risk of staining your neighbours ceiling . you can hire an aggressor with dry hoover that would set you back about £100 1 day plus discs £7
