I know this was about a year ago but still good news....
TV’s Tommy Walsh uses Mapei at home….
Celebrity TV builder Tommy Walsh is now utilising Mapei products for the refurbishment of his new home in London.
Tommy is in the middle of the massive task of fully refurbishing his 4 storey home in East London, with the help of Mapei’s quality products and wet room systems.
One of the main features in Tommy’s new home will be a large wet room and shower area, where elements from Mapei’s Wet Room Essentials range are being used. MAPELASTIC SMART has been brush applied to the floor and walls of the wet room, using Mapei’s FIBREGLASS MESH. Mapelastic Smart is a 2-part highly flexible cementitious membrane for waterproofing concrete, balconies, terraces, bathrooms, swimming pools and wet areas – it can be spray, brush or roller applied. MAPEBAND synthetic rubber tape was used for waterproofing all corners and pipe connections.
In the kitchen area Tommy has used IDROSILEX on walls – an integral waterproofer for cementitious mortars, used to obtain waterproof renders and screeds, available in both liquid and powder form.
Mapei’s recently launched ULTRACOLOR ® PLUS grout is also being used – a polymer modified, fast setting and drying grout with anti-mould BioBlock ®, and water-resistant DropEffect ® technologies, available in 26 colours. This was used to grout floor tiles installed using ELASTORAPID 2-component highly flexible, high performance fast setting and hydrating cementitious adhesive with extended open time and no vertical slip, for ceramic tiles and stone materials.
For further information on Mapei’s Wet Room Essentials Kit, Ultracolor ® Plus or any of the above products please contact Mapei UK on +44 (0)121 508 6970 or visit MAPEI.
