Help Please - Grouting With Mapei Ultracolour Plus?
Can anyone give me any advice regarding grouting floor tiles with Mapei Ultracolour Plus. In particular I am a bit concerned about how long to leave the grout before starting to wipe down with a damp sponge? The info on the packed says 15 to 30 minutes after the grout is floated into the gaps. Any hints on how to know when to start spongeing?
I have purchased a couple of small 1kg boxes which from the data sheet will cover about 2m squared (for 300x300 tiles with a 5mm gap). The floor I need to grout is only about this big so maybe just one box).
Should I mix up the whole 1kg box and do the whole 2m squared area in one hit?

Re: Help Please - Grouting With Mapei Ultracolour Plus?
Hiya, I tend to use granfix, but have used Mapy when I work with my brother. Best to use right amount of grout and water ytogether, mix witha whisk slowly. Leave 10 mins then mix again.
keep testing grout lines with your fingernail. When it starts to be hard to touch it is ready to clean off. Use a wasboy sponge. Wring out water and do a swriling action first. Then leave another 10 - 15 mins and clean off in diagonals to grout joints, gently.
If you clean off too soon you will wipe grout out of joints and the grout will be an uneven color when set.

Re: Help Please - Grouting With Mapei Ultracolour Plus?
yes do it in one go
mix it well following the EXACT amount water wise leae it to settle for a couple of mins then a gentle re mix
float it onto the the whole floor then by the time you have done this you can start cleaning up emulsify it so the grout in the joints starts to look shiney/or wet look
then leae it for a few mins then do a final clean up going at 45 deg across the joint
