Tile on Tile Adhesive?
Hi all, which Bal adhesive (or Topps equivalent) would you use to fix ceramic 450 X 300 white wall tiles ontop of existing glazed tiles?
I know the normal is to strip back to original substrate, before anyone points it out
I've tapped every tile and seems previous tiler did a damn good job, all nice and solid with no hollow sounds

Re: Tile on Tile Adhesive?
I'd use a cement based rapid set flexi, though give the old tiles a good scrub and wash down with sugar soap first, then maybe score the old tiles too depending on the glaze to get that bit of extra key for the adhesive.
Both Bal and Topps do a rapid set flexi, though Topps is made by Palace, but still good gear in my opinion.

Re: Tile on Tile Adhesive?
You need a highly modified cement based adhesive to tile over glazed tiles with..
A rapid set and polymer liquid is the recommended combination.
Mapei keraquick with latex plus or if you use bal then rapid set with ad1( other brands check with spec for suitable combo)
If using a single part flexible adhesive and no additive then as long as it is S2 quality then it will be ok.
