    Default tile spacing

    Hi all.

can any 1 help with this.
i have 300x400mm tiles i am going to fit onto wall.i was wondering what size spacers i would need for this.
i have 4mm at the moment, but some say this is only for use on floor tiles.

Any reason for using different sizes spacers?

    Many thanks

2mm or 3mm would be better...

the reason......not all tiles suit a wider joint....imo

i tend to use 3mm on walls and floors now...on walls if you havE ISSUES WITH CALIBRATION...then you can use a 2mm peg and you wont notice much difference....imo

2 or 3 mm. Have a good look at the tiles though !
If you use a long leg spacer and push it right to then back of the tile you may end up with a wider space than your spacer !!! This is because some tiles are slightly deeper and wider at the back edges than at the front. Hence a 2mm spacer pushed in from the front can sometimes end up looking like a 3mm when grouted !!!!!!
sometimes not really noticeable initially unless you measure !!

Im with most of the guys, if the tiles are well calibrated, 2mm on walls, 3mm on floors.

Same here 2mm/3mm on walls and 3mm on floors, think you need a min of 3mm on floors to enable the flexi grout to work,I am sure someone will confirm this as i am not 100%.
