Default BAL Rapidset - Rapidset Flex?

    Hi everyone,

Im planning a job where i have to tile over existing tiles, ive been recommended to use BAL rapidset with the AD1 additive, im finding this hard to get hold of, but can get hold of Rapidset Flexible easily, which says it has additive added.
Would this be ok for the job? Or would it be best to try to get the Rapidset and the additive?

    Many thanks!

    This for a floor ?

Whats the substrat ? floorboards, concrete ??

Only time I ever need to use the additive is when going onto wood or with UFH, otherwise I just use standard rapidset or rapidset flexi, though I never tile on tile.

The tiles have a satin finish, would Keraquick be a better option? Also how long would be best to wait before I grout using either Rapidset or Keraquick?

Thanks for all the help so far!

I Wouldnt use rapidset on walls !
Use Mapai P9 (White) best stuff ive ever used for tiling on tiles, Excellent pot life and gets great hold !
If i was tiling on tiles on floor i always use Bal Rapid and AD1 ,using a flexible adhesive is nowhere near as good as AD1

P.S You cant tile on tiles on Walls with Porcelain ! It Will never dry !

Only if you use tubbed stuff. Powder stuff sets by chemical reaction so evaporation is not an issue. And I assume you are talking tile on tile here?

Interesting! Doesn't mention any restrictions in their literature with regards to adhesive, maybe they were thinking along the lines of weight issues.
