I understand the need for flexible floor adhesive and grout as this area gets walked on.My question is ,can anyone explain the ... -

use flexi adhesivive when tiling on to ply-wood and onto wood structures,some addy's say there is no need need for primer but i always prefer to prime first!

to be straight with you Davey-j, what else would you use? most tiles being fixed now are classed as large format ie over 300x 300 mm, so a powdered adhesive is needed for setting purposes. A lot of walls are subject to movement and stress, just like floors, so, imo, it makes sense to use flexible addys to counteract possible movement.

As doug sez...stud walls will expand and contract.....thermal movement...moisture expansion....all will contribute to the need for flexi adhesive...and grout..

Use flexi nearly all the time now, houses have so much movement now due to the wood involved. Stud walls and the like
