    Default boarding

    hi everyone,
hope you all had a good time last night and brought the new year in in S(tile) sorry for the bad joke. If i was to board a wall out what would be the best way to do this. I do have a job where the wall has artex on and would be better off boarding but would just like to know the best way for boarding out, wether it be using aqua panel or just using plasterboard. By this question i mean boarding onto solid plastered walls.

If the walls are big and your boarding from floor to ceiling how would you tackle this? Would you use pieces the same length or would you use pieces cut down into smaller pieces and attatch them as smaller panels? Also can you just dot and dab big panels up or is it wise to screw too? If screwing would you just use the correct screw and by "plugging it" you mean use wall plugs? sorry if its a basic qtn but thought id clear it up. Should i use anything on the joints if joining two panels together? Bit long winded but another of the many topics i have yet to ask.Hope anyone can help and all the best for 2009 thanks

good link cheers m8.would you personally screw any boards to the wall rather than just dot n dab if tiling?
Also would the bonding adhesive adhere to artex? was i right in saying artex is the paint with the gritty stuff in? cheers again for your time

The paint with the gritty stuff sounds like a diy product and is as tough as old boots, Polycell I believe, Yes the dry wall adhesive will stick to most backgrounds, I would mechanical fix through the dabs when set, Just to make sure

As Dave says in his link, I done artexing for about 7 years and is as good as the prep work. I would'nt trust it unless you know who applied it, For dry linning I would be concerned about dot and dabbing and fixing well to artex directly

I would have the same concerns as Whitebeam,i would dot n dab, then screw to the wall, gives it a much more solid holing
