just wondering what self priming adhesives are on offer out their(know weber do one) was thinking its probably cheaper to buy a self priming adhesive than primer and adhesive.

when you say self priming james....do you mean tubbed or bagged adhesives..?..

weber.fix wr plus exellent gear i use it all the time and it dries white its the only tubbed stuff i use

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think most of the tubbed addy now-a-days are self-priming.

That's why i asked......coz cement based needs primer onto gypsum......

just needed james to clarify what he meant or what he thought a self priming adhesive was.....

i was on about tubbed addy, as i noticed only one of webers mentions been self priming and none of bals mention it to my knowledge. pretty sure palaces one was self priming.

You normally do not need to prime when using dispersion adhesives james....but priming does slow down the suction rate in gypsum surfaces...leaving a longer adjustment time should you meed it...

But to answer your question then NO!! acrylic adhesives need no priming.....

james i think its mainly the flexi ones that r self priming but webers says it on the tub so thats good enough for me weber makes exellent adhesives

ill probably stick to priming surfaces then to be on the safe side, just notice must weber tubs mention priming. cheers andy and dave.

I too am a fan of weber fix plus, very simular to bal white star in texture - very easy to work with
