Any ideas where I could find a very dark brown silicone (or other) sealant. To seal and fill behind some laminate worktop in a bathroom. Not really in a wet area - so doesn't need anything special. Just something that will fill.

Most importantly it needs to be as dark a brown as possible.

I looked at the Mapeil web site before I posted, knowing that people would shout Mapei - but I've got to say they have the WORST website I've ever seen (ok, exageration - but it is certainly one of the worst) it gives no indication of any colour chart, or at least I couldn't find one. It was hard enough to simply find the sealants.

In fact, when I got to my job this morning, the customer had already found some dark chocolate sealant - that we ended up using. He got it from Homebase. Their own product. Gotta say it was a good colour actually. No doubt its probably made by Mapei or someone similar anyway.

Also found a company called SolSeal. May be of interest to some.

seem to have some interesting colours (or at least that's from squinting at the tiny colour chart) I've ordered a full size one.

For future reference, a fascia board outlet may be a good bet. My local ones sell a couple of brown shades to go with the woodgrain fascias.

The only problem with these is that they are more suited to outside, so don't have the antibacterial qualities, but they are very flexible.

I have to agree, the Mapei website is'nt the best in the world.
Depending where you are in the country, you can get hold of a grout colour chart stick thingy from your local tile stockist. (shop dependent or local Mapei/Weber rep)
Mapei and Weber do them, they are the actual grout sticks of individual colours.
Mapei do 27 colours, and Weber do 25 colours. Imo Mapei are slight better and they do a silicon sealant which is exactly the same colour as the grout and is an excellent product and very handy for getting that professional finishing look.

If you pop into CTD they can get you a card with a sample blob of each colour silicone on it...

There is a colour chart on the Mapei website. From the home page click on tools from the list on the left. From the drop down box select coloured grouts. A new page will open. Leave it to open then click on any one of the room sets to the right and a colour palette appears on the left. If you click on a colour it changes the colour of the grout in the tiling in the chosen room set to that colour. This shows e.g. what a blue grout would look like. If you click on the product name you can get access to the data sheet.

Nothing like having the information there - but it being impossible to find, unless someone gives to a complex route to it
