Re: 2 grout questions
hi jon, bal charcoal grout is black, not familiar with q rock or your floor substrate but would advise a flexible one to be on the safe side. The grout in your picture looks like a "wide joint" ivory to me. Hope this helps

Check out Mapei Ultracolor Plus black. Excellent stuff but follow the instructions carefully.

I've tried that Russ ( must let it slake etc) but I must say imo it didn't set as black as bal charcoal

I have never used the BAL stuff Doug but mine seemed fine. Check out my granite floor in my gallery!

Re: 2 grout questions
I used BAL Ebony Efflorescence Free, mixed with GT1 for use with flexible adhesive.
I rate it very highly. It really is efflorescence free. I used it on this wetroom a couple of weeks ago. Today I had to scrub the floor as I have just tiled the walls and needed to clean it up prior to fitting the bathroom out.
This was taken just after I did it but the grout still looks fine now.

Charge the tools you use to grout it to the job. You won't be able to grout anything else with them, they will be stained black!

marcassiehall Russ? I'd say that bal charcoal is blacker,I'd go as far saying it is near enough jet.

Re: 2 grout questions
I have used BAL Charcoal with slate effect tiles and it works and looks really good.
It's difficult to see from your pic but you may want to take a look at Adrex sandstone grout (C2, I think) for the walls.
Just remember your admixes to ensure flexibility.

I did look on your wetroom pics cc, yes it does look good and black, but I've not used ebony one, so I don't know what it looks like in the flesh mate, I can only comment on ones I've used.

Re: 2 grout questions
word of warning.
the q-rock tiles are top quality but have a wax surface to protect during transit, you need to clean this off before grouting or applying sealer, use hg extra with scoring pads to get it clean, always test in a small area incase of re-action with tile.
