Replacing porcelein tiles over wet heating.
I need to replace a couple of porcelein tiles over our wet underfloor heating. The tiles have been removed and the subfloor repaired and has been cured for a month now.
We obviously need to turn the heating off to lay the tiles but which adhesive will allow us to turn it back on again as soon as possible and how long should we wait?
Thanks

Re: Replacing porcelein tiles over wet heating.
You will need a rapid setting flexible adhesive, something like Mapei Keraquick or BAL Rapidset flexy. BAL recommend leaving for 14 days and then bringing the heating back on line at a max rate of 5deg c per day.

Thanks Grumpy, the type of adhesive is what I expected, keeping the heating off for a couple of weeks....it'll have to wait untill the spring then.

I thought all underfloor heating of tthis type was zoned and you could just switch one zone off?

Re: Replacing porcelein tiles over wet heating.
Your correct, the system is zoned but the place in the hallway where the 2 tiles need replacing also has the pipework for the lounge running through the same area.
We'll just have to be patient, unless somebody knows of a faster setting addy?

You really need to follow what the grumpygrouter says Rhinoman, Ya can't get anything quicker than rapidset..But remember the adhesive needs to cure after setting, hense the gradual increase in temp....
