So there's me and you for sticking directly to the boards and two others for plywood overlay. Nice, I think there's still some room in the market for an easier/more trusted brand that can stick directly to solid tongue and groove floor boards. Fastflex and the Larsen's gear (which I saw promoted at launch at Expotile 2002? I think it was) is still yet to be rivalled by a brand that requires only as much work as a cement based adhesive found in a bag, the one we use daily and trust.

If the boards are in good condition and well screwed down i'll tile directly, if they're bad I would overlay

Ardex 7001 is designed for timber floors and can go straight on to T&G providing they are securely fixed down.

Have you used it? If so, is it as good as the likes of Fastflex?

granfix ultimate flex can go direct onto floor boards says on the bag also suitable for floating floors just add water instead of latex bottle like others been using it past week its like working with chewing gum also when you try to back butter it gos every where £27 for a 20kg bag much cheaper than fastflex

I completley agree with dan and gaz on this one, ive used fastflex on t and g numerous times and never had a problem but my reason for opting for ply is because pepole are changing tiles like wall paper these days. When its plyed its easier to take out. Anyone ever tried to remove tiles stuck down with fastflex

try a two part rapid flex after boarding with siutable ply as this definatly wont come unstuck ,on saying that it depends how much movement is in the surface you are tiling to as single part flex is suitable for a lot of jobs .HORSES FOR COURSES MATE
